MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND!
MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVILLE!
MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MUST BE FUNNEH, IN THE RICH MAN'S WORLD!
As all of you people with an IQ of more than -20 would figure out, today's entry is about money.
first, what is money? money is made up of little discs of metal (most likely an alloy of nickel) and retangular pieces of very nice smelling paper that we exchange for goods such as material luxury items and daily survival necessities such as food & water.
So what is the big deal with money? money is afterall, according to the old idiom, the root of all eville. but i'm sure many people will beg to differ. money is NOT the root of all eville. it is the GREED for money that is the root of all eville. and why are people greedy for it? because in our very disgustingly practical and materialistic world, money equals power. (for those who take add maths, they are identities of each other pretty much the same way how sin²
x + cos²
x is an identity of 1.)
we human beings are suckers for money because of all the wonderfully luxurious things they can buy us. being teenagers, (though some adults are worse) we are more likely to succumb to the call of temptation: the shopping mall. here we would enter the place of sin and revel in the never-ending possibilities of bragging and showing off our newly acquired, and most likely completely un-needed and unnecessary, things. the thin line that separates the joy of that possibility and going home unsatisfied, whiny and agonizing about our loss is the very worldy term of $money$
recently, charmaine, iz, nana and i trotted down to orchard road after the Singapore Poly Experience thingy. I had been planning to get alot of studying done after the thing but bugger that. nothing was accomplished because of tt trip to shopping paradise, or as close as it can get to being one, in singapore. charmaine wanted to shop for shoes because she was sick and tired of wearing slippers out (read: shoes were wanted, not needed, though i can virtually hear charmaine screaming out the complete necessity for the shoes). first, we trotted down to wisma atria and browsed thru the wonderful world of the rich and the very happy. then we went over to takashimaya (ngee ann city) and coincidentally trooped down to zara to see if we can spot something of interest.
oh there iz saw the most perfect (as perfect as it can get in her eyes) blazer-jacket-thingo that cost SG$120. and she was willing to starve for eons to get it. (though she has given up the idea). I spotted my intense love for stilettos. The salesgirls there were dressed in pretty cool outfits. very "coporate babe" look. so i and nana were wondering if Zara was hiring during the holidays so we could work and not look like uber geeks while working and on top of that, get discounts on the stuff they sell! -evillaughter-
so anyway, we walked on and went over to kinokuniya. i wanted a notebook from there. this really cute gothic looking girl doin something really nasty to her doll all the while looking very serene. the notebook costs a bomb! but ITS NOT THERE ANYMORE!!!! -wails- i really wanted the notebook. and iz and the others were asking me what i wanted and that was it. but it wasn't there. -sobsob-
everyone's been complaining that they need cash. cold hard cash. how do u get cash fast? lemme count thee ways.
1) the hard way - blackmail
2) the harder way - finding lost pets with rewards
3) the even harder way- nabbing wanted criminals
4) the hardest way - manual (ugh!) labour
haha. sorry that was for humour only. in case some people (read: slayer) didn't get it. just kidding! =P
actually, i wouldn't mind working during the hols. anyone needs tuition? i can tutor sec1 kids! -hopeful-
