not long before, i was talking abt singapore idol and the insipid things that go on inside (i'm addicted to insipid things. dun ask me why and dun suggest reasons either.) anyway, my school is opening up a BPian Idol contest. where we have to pay 2 bucks to register. but the catch is, the winner wld win 300 bucks, with a trophy and her own live webcam performance or something... i wldn't noe. i stop listening after i heard 300 bucks. like in cold hard cash! boy can i tell u its mm mm sluurrppalicious!

i began fantasizing abt joining the damn thing, humiliate myself in front of the entire school just so i cld have a chance at the money. lol. i noe. its all self-delusion but really. imagine wad i can do with 300 dollars. i cld save it. and get a job. use 200 of my pay and with the 300 buy a CREATIVE ZEN MICRO (all copyrights reserved.)!!! -bwahahaha- or i cld like go on a shopping spree. buy lotsa clothes that i want. buy those cute little shoes from ba pin. buy those giganto headphones that i've always wanted. buy this halter top and tube from fond hugs. get new lingerie. mannnn~ so maybe i can't get all of them. but it doesn't hurt to fantasize.

anyway. today what got stuck in my mind is the issue of vandalism. prob a touchy topic with iz and gennie since the thing in sec3. but anyways. i've recently begun to take note of alot of those vandalisms across... everywhere: the tables, the walls, the seats of bus stops, on the main electrical boxes....EVERYWHERE. even in my own textbook. though that wld be called doodling. lol. but really. i wonder wot's the driving force behind the vandals.

could it be that they get an adrenaline rush from the fact that they're doing something oh-so-illegal? well. it is possible. it is the driving forces behind kleptomaniacs and other illegal operations.

issit that they have a message to spread out to the entire world? one all so important msg that everyone must read? even tho i can't make sense of more than 3/4s of them. maybe you have to decipher it or some sort. beats me. i mean, that was the case when singapore was occupied by the japanese. secret signs must be made everywhere...

maybe its a way of marking property in the underworld, cuz alot of vandalisms i've seen are actually the gang's symbols. perhaps thru the vandalism, they wld mark out who's territory it is. but the thing is, what if the place that they vandalised gets repainted??

i suppose the most realistic thing that drives vandalism is still ultimately boredom, a mischevious mind with a pen/marker in hand and the lack of paper. its certainly the driving force for me. and possibly the need to decorate something that seems rather plain and dull. a little detail has never hurt anyone. (note: A LITTLE DETAIL)
