the bbq is over. and it turned out better than expected. yay. =) turnout for actual bbq: chinghong. siimynn. yeuai. charmaine. me. turnout for roasted marshmellows: everyone mentioned + iz and her cousin dharnia (issat how u spell it? =/)

and seeing how it went. my previous worries and frustrations and rants seem stupid. but aiyah. what to do? i've already said i'm paranoid and quite the worry wart. the "excess" of food turned out to be an "enough" amount. but i stupidly forgot to cook the otahs!! i so totally forgot abt them until i was checking out my fridge and saw them sitting at the bottom la. and by tt time. EVERYONE went home already la. and we already cleared the pit and stuff. fuck. but there's still charcoal. and fire starters. so i guess if i buy another aluminium foil tray. i cld bbq them again.

i guess i wasnt worrying the excess of food so much as the excess of money i have to spend. and until i sat down and did my calculations. i realised i didnt spend as much as i expected. in fact. i only spent abt $53 dollars, give or take 50cents. (i've a feeling it's take.) and there i was cross abt people not coming and having to pay extra when it turned out to be just fine.

i guess i owe yuzhen an apology. having a minor arguement abt money. the chinese saying is correct. "he peng you jiang qian, hui shang dao gan qing." (rough traslation: it's detrimental to the friendship if u talk abt money.) but after the bbq at rafael's place recently. tt's like one of my constant paranoias during a bbq. its a nightmare i tell u. budden again. i din cater this one. -hmmz-

but i think this bbq wldnt be a success if my friends werent so helpful la. i thank god for tt. everyone helped out to start the fire and keep it going, to cook, to clean to participate in conversation... i guess its cuz it was a smaller party. and wasnt so bad. =) i love my punsters.

but in any case. no more bbqs at my place ever again. unless well. its a small group like today's la. den i guess its okays =) maybe i'll have a small quiet celebration next year for my birthday. i love playing host. but its back breaking work. i think next year i'll save maybe a month before my birthday so i can throw a small party. 50 bucks is an okay sum to pay for a nice celebration.

top 2 funny things of the day:
1) we got tired of the smoke and fanning the damn pit. so wad we did was. we dragged out my extra fan into the corridor (with the help of extension cords) and let it do all the work. heh heh. everytime we thot the embers were dying we aimed the fan at it and watched it rekindle in less than a minute. hurhur.

2) i found out iz thot the bbq was yesterday. and was all dressed to come over to my place and was abt to step out of the house before calling charmaine who told her it was today. hahahahha. iz iz iz. studying too much. hahahaha.
