today was a great day. i got to see gennie yeuai and charmaine all on the same day. went studying with the former 2 at bp mac's but i can ensure u its not very productive. us not seeing gennie for long we blabbered and joked around most of the time. i only got to do 2 math qsns. okay. tt's a lie.

i only got to do 1 and a half qsns. half of a complex number qsn and 1 qsn on 3D trigo.

erk. how super unproductive. but how super nice. its so nice to be with people on the same wavelength as you. and not having to worry whether they're judging you and thinking tt u're fucking nuts. it's really nice to be urself and actually love being yourself.

i dont think there'll ever be another group of friends as diverse and wacky as the 06ers. and those were the best times of my teenage life (though i still have 2 and a half years to go till i'm 20) and i think they're irreplacable. but life goes on. things change. people change. and now new friendships forged, new experiences shared, new memories created. and another bunch of irreplacables will be formed. but how soon and how precious... well we'll see.

anyway. i met charmaine after tt. she popped over to my place to watch brokeback mountain. we both think it's an excellent movie. the gay scenes were really sizzling hot. it wasnt as entirely gross as what we (or rather she) was expecting. i on the other hand already knew tt 2 hot guys making out can only create more fire. heh heh heh. but the movie is still predominantly a romance story. just tt the story envelopes 2 men rather than 2 members of the opposite sex.

i wont divulge the ending. it was rather sad. i still cant stand how it ended tho i rather expected it. when u see how both of them strived to keep their relationship alive and how in love they were with each other. you dont really care if they're gay or not. all you really see is 2 people in love and struggling to live by the strict rules of society.

the way i see it, the movie touches on 3 things: how society forces us to conform, the consequences if we dont conform, and one of the most controversial and debatable topic on morality and society's view point, homosexuality.

if this was set in another place, another situation it wldnt be as impactful. say setting it as a peasant girl who falls in love with a rich lord during the era of the ton back in england. people marrying out of their status. out of their league. it would mean the same thing. but precisely cuz this issue has been overcome (though some stigma still hangs around it becuz of the mercenary way of life we have adopted) that we must touch on something else talked only abt in snatches and in a more scandalised tone of voice.

when george clooney received his oscar that night for a different movie entirely, he said that he was glad that hollywood seemed to be living in their own bubble (as afore mentioned by the host tt night) becuz it's them who are so blinded to the rules of society, them who live by their own set of cruel warped regulations, them who are also brazen enough, bold enough to play with fire, taunt this line that people have not dared to or dont want to cross.

and this line is the line they call homosexuality. i say this in the most RMUN way possible. homosexuals are homo sapiens to. let all homo sapiens live the life they want to. i've always been more liberal in my ways and i always feel that so long someone does something that harms no one than the parties involved than it is really their business. perhaps discretion shud be advised but otherwise, even if it is public knowledge and still a taboo, if they dont flaunt it... it really isnt within our means to interfere in anyway.

yes. brokeback mountain deserved the oscar nominations and awards. altho most of the guys i know wld disagree and think it's an utterly mediocre movie. machismo. pffbt. they just cant stand the idea of 2 guys getting it on. though frankly neither can i.

...unless they're hot. hahaha.

but even if they arent. like i said. if they dun flaunt it, its not my right nor my business to interfere with what they have. i stand strongly by what i said.

anyway. do you guys know tt heath ledger has really really really hot buns? and do u noe tt it looks super cute in denim? and even more so in the nude? hahah whew. those scenes with jake gyllenhaal were so hot i cld cook an egg on it.

so i give it 4 popcorns (out of 5) becuz a) it has romance and it's trials and tribulations b) it has really hot scenes c) cuz it has heath ledger naked d) cuz it touches reality but becuz the southern accent of the actors were so strong it was hard to make out (pun totally unintended) what they were saying though u get the gist of it.

watch it. it's a must.
