I just wrote a whole chunk on what makes me happy but I deleted it because I thought it was junk; because they were all examples of one point.

Having the knowledge that I'm not being judged makes me the happiest which is why it's the easiest to suddenly feel a bit happy when I do stuff alone like sing (even if I'm off-key). But it's even easier to feel happy when I know the other person around me isnt assessing me.

Today, I went to watch the Inter-JC Debate Championships with Gennie, which was rather intellectually satisfying. Motion: This house believes that patriotism has no future. I'm no adjudicator but I can find some of the flaws in their arguement easily which makes me pleased.

After that we went to Causeway Point for a while to check out Charles and Keith. Then, I needed to return some books so we popped over to the library. And while we were walking back to Woodlands station, Gennie mentioned that her last year in Canada has been good because it gave her the opportunity and passion for debate.

And I said, the last year in Singapore has given me a lower self esteem.

And I wish I could say why here.

No. Thats not true. I wish I could just simply say why but I find it so hard because I'm afraid people will tell me that I can rise up above those reasons and be happy again if only I want to and God knows I desperately want to. I'm just not sure if I can. And if I eventually can't, can I take that failure in stride or wld it just give me another reason to be unhappy?
